Yahoo! India Launches Catalogue of Full Length Bollywood Movies -Free!

Facebook and Microsoft might not be Google's only competitors.
Yahoo! India launched their version of the Youtube Box Office, MoviePlex for viewing Bollywood movies, free of cost.
Previously, Youtube had announced that they were working with Lionsgate, MGM and Sony Pictures to create an on-demand catalog of movies, followed an addition of more than 3,000 mainstream movies for users to rent. These include a mix of contemporary Hollywood blockbusters, independent and foreign movies, including the likes of Oscar winning movies like 'The King's Speech' and 'Inception' alongside classics like 'Scarface' and 'Taxi Driver', available at a rental price of $2.99.
(And when we last checked, Hindustan Unilever had sponsored 'Dabangg', making the entire movie available on Dabbang's Youtube India page for Indian audiences.)

A first look at Yahoo! MoviePlex revealed a first set of 8 movies and no ads yet. The menu includes Aakrosh, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji,Rock On!!, Rann, and Lamhaa, and Yahoo! India is working with Indian movie studios to expand the section to eventually offer "thousands of movies".

You'll need Adobe Flash for streaming the movies and a 2 MBPS speed for smooth viewing. However, users from Bengaluru and Mumbai have complained about restrictions on viewing the movies.
